It looks like all of the cardioid capsules on the NT-4, NT-5, and NT-55 are the same and removable. You can now buy the http://www.sweetwat… omni capsules separately and interchange them on all of these mics.

Minor error here. The NT5 and stereo NT4 are fitted with cardioid capsules as standard. The NT55 is supplied with both cardioid and omni capsules.

I don't see the point in fitting omni capsules to the NT4, except perhaps change one of them on occasion to get a single omni channel. An NT5 fitted with an omni capsule should be sonically identical to the NT55, but the 55 has the pad and the HP filter.

You are correct, I had the omni/cardioid NT5/NT55 around the wrong way. So there is absolutely no point to my question.
