Beyer DT 770 Pro versus AKG K271MKII

Hi!

I need to buy headphones, my oldies AKG are totally destroyed.

I like to ear the true sound without coloration. I worked with the Beyer 990 Pro in some studios and liked very much but is but half-open... so the sound is different.

Do you prefer open for long hours of work or closed? In my experience if the headphones are closed but comfortable i can take 3 hours without problems (using moderate level’s).

If open:

Beyer 990 Pro
AKG K240MKII

Tips?

Regards

Microphones, like speakers, like headphones, you really can't be realistic in this business unless you own a pair of both types.

If you're going to be in a noisy environment or doing solo vocal overdubs, you'll want the sealed type. Like my HD 280 Sennheiser or KOSS Pro4AA, etc..

If you're going to be mixing live or in the studio, you'll want the open-air types. Like my Sennheiser HD 545, HD 424, I can't even remember the model numbers of the others? I have so many.

I look for consistency as opposed to ultimate fidelity.

Hi!

Sennheiser tend to be very "trebled" don’t you think? But is a matter of knowing the headphones… the HD 545 are nice but for me have that trebled thing.

Some people don’t like the “Treble Thing” from ADAM monitors… I love them!!!!!

:D

I think AKG tend to be more neutral and precise… Beyer more 3D and excited in terms of upper harmonics! Am i correct? My ears still function properly?

Some tips from AKG & Beyer users?

Regards

p.s. "I look for consistency as opposed to ultimate fidelity", that's for sure Ms. RemyRAD
