Great videos Chris.
Thanks for taking the time to post them. :)
I love the story Rupert tells about meeting Ray Dolby, and how they were both starting their companies at around the same time, and came to their " gentleman's agreement"...
"Tell you what, Ray, you stick to noise reduction and not make consoles and I'll stick to consoles and not make noise reduction.."
With a simple handshake-style agreement, they promised to not step on each others' toes.
These days a simple agreement like that would take half a dozen law firms, 50 accountants and 100 marketing reps.... and a 2000 page contract... LOL
Yes, thanks for posting these, Chris. I had not seen them before

Could you correct the spelling of Rupert Neve's name in the thread title, at least so that search engines are more likely to find it?
How did I miss that one, facepalm embarrassing hehe... Thanks B

Thanks for these fascinating links.
I found it interesting that he started out sending home high-fi products to the states. I didn't know that. I don't recall ever seeing anything from outside the US in the 1950s. The first that I heard of English products for home was from the Quad company. I would be interested in seeing any links to historical information about this.
