I have just released my first solo album. Recently two songs reached top1 and top2 at Audiostreet.net.
As I did with a similar thread at my Brazilian forum, I will post here some tips and ideas in the making of this album.

I will write about some techniques and presets employed in the Top2 "Deusa De Marfim". I chose this specific song becaue it has acoustic drums.
Main plugins: Vintage Warmer, Compressor Banks, Tc Chorus, Amp Farm, Echo farm, Waves Q10, LA-2A , etc.
I am sure DAvid will enjoy this idea too.

Acoustic drums were recorded with the following setup and approach:
Kick - Shure SM91
Snare - Mic 1 Shure Beta 57 (side snare position)
Mic 2 AKG C418 (clipped to the snare)
Mic 3 AKG C2000B (also top mic, 40 centimeters from snare)
(phase verified, no comb filtering at all)
Very curious that a C2000B combined with the other 2 mics provided what was to me a pretty good tone. And also good to break some rules once in a while. :) )
Toms - all toms miked with condensers. No low cuts, gain padded. Mics: AKG C3000B, C2000B, GT55.
Overs - A spaced pair of AT4050s at regular cardioid position.
Hihat - Shure SM81 (Low cut, gain pad engaged).
Additional Ambience Mic - AT4050 +/- 4 meters far from the kick , height: 2.5 meters .
(phase checked, no comb filtering at all).
Slight nudge at Pro Tools sections.
Next, I will comment about EQ, Plug-ins, compression pre/post tracking.
