I am currently running Nuendo and have recently been taking on larger projects with more tracks. I noticed that my CPU meter in Nuendo is starting to peak out around 3/4 full and my program is running a bit slower. This usually happens when I run some power hungry effects such as the Waves stuff. So my question is, what is the best way to add more processing power to my PC?
I am running a P4 clocked at 2.13mhz with 512mb DDR memory. How much improvement would I see if I threw another stick of 512 in my machine? Or, should I think about upgrading my CPU?
Thanks,
Shane

Do you own a UAD-1 card? I'm still on a p3 933 256mb ram, and I routinely am able to get 30-36 tracks(never tried for more) playing using a combo of uad comps and eq and various other plugs including waves 3.5 with the Nuendo cpu meter at approx the 6th little bar. No problems with slowing down.

I'm not all that well versed in Nuendo. I run Cubase (among other things..)But have you tried adjusting the buffer sizes? Both in the program and on your sound card? What OS and soundcard do you have?
