I know that mackie does not have the support of those priveledged enough to have worked on an ssl, However, after looking at this board(phonic), given the layout, eq's, and the fact that I have never heard of them, I say go for a mackie.

You may encounter reliability issues over time, (but not if you take care of it) and a little crosstalk could piss you off from time to time, bang for the buck is there though.

You don't say what your application is. Recording , Live? If recording, how many tracks and what are you recording to? Bands or one track at a time? Kurt

We do remote recording...usually with just two mikes, but we're starting to do more and more rock and gospel bands. The gig we have today has 13 tracks. Equipment is basically a Digi002 and an Alesis HD24.
