I'm running PT LE w/a Digi001 into a very fast Win-tel box without any problems. I'd like to install the Pro Tools LE onto an iBook for doing some session mixing and tweaking of the primary sessions I've done on the PC. I have the Mac install disk and the software install seems to go great. I'd like to simply copy the session from the PC to a CD, import those files to the iBook's hard drive and begin working on mixing, plug in's, etc when I'm away from home then save the changes as a new session or bring them back to the PC for more tracks to be added.

Here's the problem. The LE installs okay as an OS 9.2 program however when I go to start the PT, it errors out with a message that it can't start a DAE session. I'm guessing that's because I don't have the Digo001 box or an M-Box hooked up. I simply want the software application, not the recording or A/D input. Is there a way for this to work?

Thanks in advance for any help. There is great info here.

With Pt TDM circa 4.3 one could use power mix mode, which was a simple way of outputing audio without any digi interface so that it used the crappy simple MAc stereo outs.
I guess you´ll need to carry the interface together.
At least PT TDM 5.x sessions can not be opened without an interface.Probably Le goes the same way.
Seems it is unable to create a DAE deck at your portable rig.

With this Digi guarantees their sales of hardware boxes. Who will pirate a software that does not function without the hardware?
hope it helped ya
