i wanted to know if there was a way that I can run a guitar or anything for that matter into Cubase and have an effect applied to it through either the insert or the send, and record that effected signal.

Im using guitar rig and i dont want to record the dry signal i want torecord the sound I'm heariung to thetrack so i can save resources and not have guitar rig running while I'm tracking.

THanks

I know in Nuendo, you go to the "INPUT MIXER" channel, and add the inserts there. This will print the effect to disk. You will be best running in 32bit float record mode at this point (as long as you don't specifically need 24 bit files).

FWIW - you should be able to record 2 tracks from 1 input. Just record one WITH the insert (and listen to that one while you record), and record one without the insert (in case you don't like your effect, but have a great take). This way, you can get your processing "out of the way" without comitting to any drastic effects in case a different sound be needed.
