Under settings/playback engine check the hardware buffer latency. It should be set to 128 or less for tracking and 1024 when mixing. It will still sound a bit phasey to a singer but should be fine for everyone else. It never hurts to mention your system when asking these types of questions. PC or Mac, protools version, protools hardware etc.. Good luck. Dave

exactly, latency during tracking is really only an issue with pro tools LE systems...not TDM (for anyone thinking of buying a TDM rig)
