...a USB3 interface for live backing tracks. Two-channel will be fine. One channel will go to FOH, other to monitors (with "count-in" added in). Must be MIDI-capable (actual 5-pin preferred). Also want "playback software" that can be accessed by Behringer FCB1010 foot control for direct-access of banks and songs, by stepping on foot switches, AND "Play" and "Stop" functionality.
Good sound quality. Not overly-expensive. Main purpose not to record, but playback...BUT would be nice to have good recording quality for sketchpad recording, without firing up complicated home-studio mess.
Any ideas of decent interface, with included software that might do all that? OH...laptop, Toshiba Satellite C55-A5302, Pentium 2.4GHz Dual-core, Win 8 64-bit, 6 GB Ram.

Thanks, pcrecord. That's definitely a viable candidate. About the right budget, too. Actually, 2 in, 4 out might be even more handy. I'm sure the interface would be fine, just need to see if Ableton does what I need. If it does...that takes care of that. I know it's geared more for live, I just need to see if I can get the control I need from the MIDI foot pedal.
Anyone else, anything else?

I've researched, and the Scarlett 2i4 looks like the best reasonable thing for I/O. Now...I just need some software that I can control with a MIDI foot switch, as far as random-access loading songs by stepping on the bank and numbers. (Bank 2, song number 26, load and play.) It could be some kind of playback software with "Playlists", but needs that control and not to continue to next song automatically. it could be DJ or Karaoke software, with that kind of control. I've searched...and it seems an impossible find, though a reasonable feature. This is just to keep both hands on my guitar, the laptop from in front of my face and not having to peck things out on the keypad and the infernal touchpad, etc.,...but just to load and start things from a written list to choose relatively quickly, load relatively quickly, start "Play", and stop at the end of the song. Nobody makes anything like that?
Actually, Karaoke software (with good sound quality) might not be bad to just load a normal ol' higher-quality MP3+(whatever...G?) with the lyrics, and the laptop off to the side, but still visible for those 'I can't remember the next verse" moments.
Anyone?

Anyone ever hear of this thing? Looks like it does everything I'd need.

As for, playback software, the scarlett has Ableton Live Lite 8 Bundled with it. it's worth a try to see if it can work for live uses.
I've had some result with cakewalk products. But now a day, they tend to put too many un-needed feature for live uses..
