Hi all,

I've just acquired a Fostex 8-track reel-to-reel recorder and an looking to record onto tape and then send the 8 tracks INDIVIDUALLY from the unbalanced rca/phono output to my daw.

Does anyone know the easiest path to do this?

Most of the audio interfaces I've viewed only allow for 2 stereo tracks to be sent or a sum of all 8 channels. I need them to be separate for post editing!

Many thanks for any help.

the Fostex will sync to daw if you get the 4030 sync box. or you can get an 8 channel interface. if you get the 4030 you will be able to record 8 tracks, dump them to daw and then record 8 more and dump them to daw for as many tracks as you like. do not attempt to sync the daw to the tape as ugly things can happen to digital when the clocking is screwed up. always have the tape machine chase the daw. .
