anyone know of a simple interface to get 8 channels of audio via toslink (ADAT) thru firewire or usb? we've been using a Yamaha 01v with an ADAT card for gigs and i'd love to be able to mult the mix to the 8 tracks of ADAT and record on my ibook. fwiw, i'd be using dp (or pt) on a mac.

You've got a couple options:
MOTU 828 - It'll do 8 channels of lightpipe and 8 channels of analog. They've got the MKII version coming out soon.
Presonus firestation: Same kind of deal.
Both are firewire setups. There might be a few more out there too.
How do you like the 01V? I'm looking into the 01v96 for a remote setup. I figure that and either an HDR or an iBook setup like yours and I'd be golden. How do you like the onboard dynamics?
