Shouldn't be an issue, make sure the drive is 7200 rpm.

I've been taking a series of After Effects classes at a local college, haven't had any problems using a firewire drive for projects. Most of the footage is full screen uncompressed. :cool:

I'd say they are up to speed alright. Make sure it is
1. an ATA100 or ATA133 disk
2. running at 7200rpm
3. with an 8MB buffer on board.

Those disks have a pretty nice performance and should cover your needs.
