Behringer is a very, very mixed bag. Some of their stuff is surpassed by equipment you can buy at Toys R Us and some of it is astounding.
I was curious about a post I read on the internet about their ECM8000 ref. mics. I bought a pair and they are killer for 35 bucks. I mic acoustic guitars with them now instead of Neumanns.
Then I turned around and got one of their Ultracurves. The unit had a defective EPROM, and I have to wait for one to get here from Germany. Yay!
I've used some of their other stuff... Needless to say, you will not find better *cheap* products. Behringer is as good as it gets. However, it will not give you a "big studio sound."

Hope that helps.
