For a vocal preamp you wouldn't go wrong with the tube/transformer preamp in the STT-1 Origin, a Vintech X73i, a Mercury M72 or M76 (M76 has more brightness than the M72). I use over 40 preamps in my studio.
If you had any one of these 4 and were not thrilled, I'd be very surprised. :shock:
