It's hard for me to believe that for getting so much for so little, that this unit would have high quality Converters and Pres. But we are heading to 2004 in such a brave new world :)

I just talked w/ a engineer who had one and recently switched to the Digi002 for work related reasons. He says the FW-1884 actually sounds a bit better than the Digi002 & much better than a Delta 1010 he once had.

I'm looking to upgrade Converters from my Aardvark... to me Aark and the 1010 are on about the same field. I was looking towards RME or Lynx Two... Is the Tascam unit in that realm? & the Pres? I like the Controller too. I run VST5, thinking of upgrading to Nuendo or possibly switching to Digi002 and PTLE.

Opinionsor ideas?
