I have a problem with Cool Edit 2, can anyone help?
Basically everytime I go to put an mp3 into multitrack it just comes out as 'interference'. It never used to and I haven't changed anything but for some reason its all gone wrong?
I have ensured the settings are 44100, 16 bit, stereo etc but nothing seems to work.
Any ideas?

youre not opening it as an mp3. Go to Open... not Open As... and

You shouldn't have to go through a dialog box that asks for the characteristics of the file such as 16 or 32 bit, or a selection of rates like 44100. You're trying to open it as a PCM and that's the problem.
