this is pretty cool stuff. seems like a pretty painless way to patch into the world of Ethernet, without sacrificing your analog toys. max sample rates 96k, 48k on the usb one, but that's noes an issue for most things. id love to see an 8 channel, and ultra high sample rate model soon, for audiophiles and home theater applications. wifi support cant be too far away either. these little devices really simplify audio distribution.
audinate makes it easy and relatively low cost to get into networked audio, using your existing stuff. they also allow you to send/receive audio form your existing computer/Ethernet port with their 'virtual sound card' (64x64 Ethernet audio) software for $30 ($60 for the via/virtual soundcard combo) at sample rates up 32bit 196k (48k for via), and latencies as low as 4ms. and it supports 'sample rate pull up/pull down' which i think is realtime sample rate conversion. i think I'm getting onboard with this really soon. Its great because it incorporates seamlessly into whatever hardware/software you already have, it just adds Ethernet connectivity to it. "You can even send audio from different applications to different locations at once." (-audnitate)
