Hello folks.

Well I have a question (for a change), I'd like to record my self, playing the guitar and singing but I dont wanna do it at the same time, but recording one thing after another I have a peavey powered mixer with 8 channels, with RCA ins/outs.

What would be the best way to go?, supponsing I have a souncard with RCA ins/outs, should I connect the mixer (out) to the soundcard (in) and record lets say te guitar and then connect the soundcard (out) to the mixer (in) and record the voice over the first recording?...is this the best thing to do in terms of sound quality?, since I'll be recording to a digital media I supposed I won't be losing to much quality while recording over and over, will I?

To accomplish what I want to do, do I have to use the computer?, or is there any other gear I can use to record each track at a time?..and what kind of media this it use..tape?
