I know Digi01 doesn't currently come in an XP version but does anyone have any dirt on digidesign's timetable to release it as such?

Opus may very well be correct about Digidesign's "concern" (or lack thereof) for PC users, but PT LE for Win XP is currently in beta testing as we speak. Last time I spoke with Digidesign (about two weeks ago) I was told the ETA was "three to five months". But that was from one of the product registration customer service reps, so I can't say how accurate that estimate REALLY is.
Hopefully, Digidesign will add all the support to the PC version that currently exists on the Mac version of PT LE, and we'll see more softsynth and plug in development for the PC platform - and on THAT, I'm not holding MY breath... but still in all, overall performance is MUCH better on the PC than on the Mac with the Digi 001, and the computers are less expensive. I built a Athlon XP 1800 on a Asus A7V266E mobo that is performing very wel - fast AND stable. Now I just need that XP support...
