I have recently come across a Digigram PCX440np 4 track PCI card. I believe that these are aimed at the broadcast market, but I would like to use it for music recording/mixing, as it seems the hardware is very nice.
While it seems to work perfectly with the Digigram XTrack software, this software is quite limited in it's mixing abilities, from a music point of view. The only standard windows drivers available are emulated Wave drivers (not WDM), and don't seem to make any use of the on-board DSP of these cards.. These Wave drivers don't seem to be stable with any software I've tried to run on them.. They seem to do best with Sonar, but don't work at all with anything ASIO based... (e.g. Cubase)
I have emailed tech support at Digigram, and all that they would say is that they have tested the cards with all major music software and it will work. They didn't give me any tips on settings for the drivers to make them work..
Does anyone out there have any experience with using these cards outside their npRuntime environment? There is SFA info on the net that I've found so far..
Thanks
