I was messing with a bass track last night to get a feel for the unit and I have a couple of questions.
Should I be hitting the input enough to see a little gain reduction on a bass guitar ? I was tring to punch it up a bit but everything I tried seemed to be very suttle at best. I know it is subjective, a use your ears kinda thing but I'm wondering what settings a more experienced (distressorist) :) might use.
Or maybe your approuch to gain staging this unit. There is no theshold control on the distressor so it's a little different than what I'm use to.
Obviously the input has a lot to do with the attitude of the compression but I'm just wondering what others might do.

Look at the manual that came with the distressor, there are alot of awesome settings to get u started for number of different instruments. Other than that just pound that thing and listen while u tweak. This device is AWESOME and has a characteristic that no other compressor has. I've tried it on everything at least once and have found a use for it every time. Good luck and happy distressing!!!!!!

The Input knob is your threshold - turn it up, until you see (and hear) something happen...
Have fun!!
