I've read and tried this one senario where if you have multiple sound cards in your setup, and you need to lock them together through some means of syncronization other than the BNC connection, would it be ok to substitute the SPDI/F connections? I understand that without this distribution, your recorded audio is subjected to drifting, pops, & etc. I have'nt taken the time to "crimp" any BNC connections together for this setup. And what gauge wire/cable (ie: rg-45,58) works best for this type of connectivity? :)

Basically as long as each device is synchronous, all working on the same time frmae, then it's ok.

Some cards don't offer word clock so the only way to synch them is via a digital source.

If you have multiple cards then indeed you do need to synch them by running a SPDIF or Word clock cable between them and make one the master and one the slave.

List the devices you have and I will spell it out for you how to hook everything up.
