Hello. I visit this site very once in a while to read interesting data. I've been working with the EMU Pm5 monitors for 2 years on and off. I say on and off because the funniest things happened to me. A year after I bought them they both burnt down with a difference of 15 days. I was desperate. I called Emu from my country (Argentina) and they didn't even try to help. Thank you so much. I sent them again to the dealer where I'd bought them and they changed the power transformer inside and said that they had never heard this happened to anyone before. I worked with them for almost a year until a couple of months ago the same thing happened again. You can imagine my frustration. So, to make a long and sad story short, I have the monitors looking at me now and not working (they are both burned)....

About their sound. Well, I'm far from being an expert on monitors but they sounded decent. The highs were a bit muddy and the lows were not well defined. I mean, I could hear them but they did not translate well in the mix. The mix had an exaggeration of low frequencies. I loved the mid section and they were quite faithful for some mixes. (in which the low end was not an issue). This is as much I can say about them because due to some electrical gremlin, a bad batch or just plain bad luck, I can never work with them the way I should so I've decided to have them fixed one last time and to sell them. Can't afford Adams or mackies but cannot afford the headache either.

Hope it helps.
