Does anyone know the formula for calculating total AMPS? For example if you add up all your gear's maximum wattage and say you come to 1,000 watts, how many amps is that?
I know you're also supposed to add 10% of buffer to prevent overloading the circuit.
Watts divided by voltage equals amperage....ergo....1000/120=apr
Watts divided by voltage equals amperage....ergo....1000/120=aprx 8.3 amps......In actuality it will be quite a bit less ...while pieces are at rest there is very little draw.An example of a piece of gear capable of drawing more amperage based on use and the volume used is a tube guitar amp.
