I have a cheap $400 Samick Greg Bennet Series Acoustic/Electric guitar that is about 7 years old. The first 2 or 3 frets are starting to get grooved pretty bad, are really causing issues with the guitar staying in tune. I've had it setup properly, but the issue still exists. I tend to have to tune to a chord, but different chords still make it out of tune.

I really hate to pay the price to have the whole thing re-fretted on such a low cost guitar, but I dont really have the money to buy a new one. Is there something I can do on my own to resolve this problem? Somehow sanding the frets? Obviously I dont want to do any more damage, but even a temporary and decent fix would suffice for me. Any ideas or suggestions would be great, as funds are low right now.

Worse case scenario is getting the first couple frets replaced...any ideas what this generally costs, per fret?
