I am having problems recording electric guitar. I have a pc, use acid for recording and have a soundmax sound card. I attach a microphone to the mic input and record the guitat like that.

The pc records wit an excellent fidelity when I play guitar without distortion. When I put distortion, the sound that is recorded comes out kinda good but the sound after a few seconds goes down and is replaced by a wave-like sound.

I've tried lots of stuff... and this problem only occurs when I record with distortion. PLEASE HELP! :(
