Hello again.

So I finally broke down and purchased a pair of M-Audio BX8's (very pleased), but my question is this...right now I have them connected to my M-Audio Revo 7.1 soundcard. For that, I have a stero 1/4" -> 2 mono 1/4" cable with a 1/4" -> 1/8" adapter to plugin to the soundcards line out. It doesn't seem to fit snug in the line out and I lose the signal in the left monitor once in awhile. It might also just be the adapter (cheap radio shack adapter). Ayways, I use a Layla24 for all of my recording, and I am getting some serious latency when I try to monitor something with this setup. To get the best possible sound and no latency, could I just buy two 1/4" cables and use analog outputs 1 and 2 from the Layla? I'm not quit sure the best kind of cable for this and also which way to set everything up. If someone could help me out here I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

hmmm...I guess after reading that, it was not very clearly written. Let me give it another shot...

Current Setup
PC Computer with M-Audio Revolution 7.1 soundcard
Layla24
M-Audio BX8 monitors

I have the BX8's connected to the M-Audio soundcard using one cord (it is a 1/4" stereo male to 2 mono 1/4" males). I also have an 1/4" to 1/8" cheapo Radio Shack adapter on the stereo end so it fits the 1/8" line out on the card.

With this setup, I get horrible latency when trying to monitor the incoming source (ie what I am trying to record). Also, the adapter doesn't seem to fit very snug and so once in awhile I lose the left channel.

Also, I am a little confused on the different types of TRS cables. Reading through the BX8 manual, it talks briefly about the different kinds, but it does not say which kind is the best.

I was wondering if I should just get two 1/4" cables and use analog ouputs 1 & 2 on the Layla. Would that give me stereo if that were setup as my "master out"? Or should I just use the same cord I already have and use the stereo headphone out on the front of the Layla? Any help greatly appreciated.
