Well i got 8 Shure sm57 mics with mic lines and a big Yamaha mixing console which aplifies the mics.

Here is the deal i'm looking for a decent recording sound card close or better than CD quality.

I will be recording some songs that are just vocals and acoustic guitar, both using mics.

I will also record electric guitar, vocal and drums and maybe bass all at once, like live recording and separate sometimes to mix on the PC. Here is the deal the Yamaha unit i have is a big console it's old but it amplifies the mics fine and sounds good.

It has a left and right side output for speakers these i would plugin into which ever card i get to record the songs. WIll this work well?

Cards i'm considering in my budget are:
emu 0404
emu 1212m
audiophile 2496
Delta 1010lt
m-audio delta 44

Thanks

Take a look at the Aardvark Q10. It will eliminate the need for the Yamaha unit and give you great sound right into your computer. Only catch is that the drivers are not solid with just any hardware. Write to Aardvark and they will tell you if you will be good to run.

I really think you will be happy with the Q10.
