I had a question about finding an interface that was compatible with an Mbox2 that allowed me to record 8 mono tracks into Pro Tools. Can someone throw a few suggestions at me? Thanks

OK, so here is what you want. You want somebodies 8 input microphone preamp with a FireWire output. It will come bundled with some other companies multitrack software. You track with this. After tracking, you can import anything you want into ProTools and listen to it through your M-Box 2. You'll be able to play with all of the wonderful processing like the Bomb Factory 1176 plug-ins and all that wonderful stuff. But two is two and that's all you get on an M-Box 2. What? You didn't look at the specification or read the directions first?

I'm afraid there is no way. The MBox2 cannot be aggregated to another Digidesign device to add inputs to a ProTools session.
You'd have to upgrade to a 003 or any of the other Digi interfaces that will give you the number of inputs you need. I wouldn't go the M-Audio route. I think the interfaces are of lesser quality and you have to buy M-Powered PT additionally, plus it has a few hidden limitations.
If not having 96KHz is no biggy to you, you can try to get a second hand Digi001 that gives you 16 inputs if you also use the ADAT i/o. I don't know if that one will work with PT 7.3 though. Maybe one of the PT gurus here can answer that question.
