I have a few guitar player friends who are thinking about the same thing. I suppose, with the right audio interface and something like a [[url=http://="http://www.littlela…"]LittleLabs PCP Distro[/]="http://www.littlela…"]LittleLabs PCP Distro[/] or a http://www.radialen… Radial JD7[/]="http://www.radialen… Radial JD7[/], one could do this.
Kind of an expensive stomp box though.

I can definately see the wisdom in using a computer to release you from multitudes of limitations. I think a rackmount computer with two monitors would be good for this task.
