sound forge does 320, vbr, etc..
what version are you using?
are you sure you are editing the save parameters in the batch dialog boxes? the options should be there...

I'm running Sound Forge 8. Don't see any bit rate options higher than 128. Is it because of the old version?

And also ended up with a question: what are you supposed to include in an mp3 when it's supposed to end up in a commercial use (=webshop downloads). On cd you must have the producer code ISRC but how does it work with mp3? The few software I tried didn't offer much more than composer, comment and performer in the ID3 fields.

I don't know why you have to suffer the loss of clarity, why can't you use the superior wav files?

are you looking to batch edit those properties? im sure there are batch id3 editors.
however, soundforge gives you a dozen or more fields to fill in, you should upgrade, sf can do everything youre trying to do from the outset. batch editing, converting, processing, etc...

The main reason for the difference in size is that it's not the same audio information. Converting WAVs to MP3 is a lossy process.
