hi,
after i use a compressor there is a level drop. it is normal of couse:) But how should I adjust the volume of a track to compensate a level drop? With compressor's gain control? But what amout? Or it is better to do with track's volume slider?
Depends........if you're using it as an effect to squash a track, use the compressor gain control, typically by the same amount of reduction you're applying (threshold at -10, gain at +10). If you're using it to limit peaks and prevent distortion, use the fader, but if your settings are correct, you shouldn't have to touch it anyway.
