General consensus is that mixing on studio monitors gives you the truest version of your recordings, which then hopefully will allow you to compensate for different speakers and environments. If you are rough mixing with not as accurate of a loudspeaker, in a less than ideal environment you will only be making more work for yourself in the long run.

While I dont mix on the computer speakers I will check mixes done on the studio monitors on them regularly.

yeah, do it the other way around.

mix on the flattest, most neutral speakers you have.

then reference it on more consumer-grade speakers (like computer speakers) to check for a good translation.

And don't forget about treating the room...

and don't forget to bring a towel
