I am building custom monitor stands and wonder which part of the monitor to place at ear level...woofer, tweeter or in-between? I have seen monitor heights on Omnirax Furniture ranging from 34" to 45". The monitors will be placed vertically on the stands. I have the Behringer B2031's.
Appreciate any info

Where did you get that myth? They'll sound best where they sound best. It's all dependent on the room, and the speakers (and their interaction).
Play around...you'll find a spot that is both pleasing for listening, as well as references well with the 'outside' world.
Best of luck.

But trial and error could help 2(hear where they sound best)
This only changes in surround setups not for music, where the rear monitors are placed 2 to 5 feet above ear level
