Whats up guys,

I'm looking up eggleston speakers and I'm wondering if any of you have had experience with those. What can you tell me about them? I realize they are designed better for mastering applications but I'm looking for that personal description.

The more detailed the better and preferably more info needed on the Ivy and Savoy series.

Thanks in advance

Hey Lee -

I can't tell you too much about these gems other than that the guys are located in Memphis. If you're looking at a speaker purchase of this magnitude, you would do well to spend $400 on a round trip plane ticket and take a tour of their factory and spend some quality time looking them over.

I can tell you the guys there are VERY nice and professional and will bend over backwords to help you out.

if you mean eggleston works, than i have had a cd mastered at them some weeks ago at galaxy studios belgium. There actually the 'so called perfect' hifispeakers, about 300kg a peice and they had the surround setup.

Believe they cost around 40.000 euro a piece.

What can i tell about them, well they sounded pretty dam good, but than again, that room is said to be the best designed mastering room in europe so how am i able to judge them.

All i can do is compare them to the speakers i mixed the album on, Tannoy 12" and tannoy 8", KRK V8. It is best described as like not looking through glass anymore. It looks perfect untill you notice you are behind a window. A clean window but a window anyway. Once you remove that things become more obvious.

So are they worth 40.000 a peice? I guess so, but i would buy them for that price. I would invest wise, buy a ferrari :P
