I was reading about a Studio that had 5 Networked computers running Gigastudio into a flagship with Pro Tools HD. My question is why would you do that, and how would I go about creating a network where other computers handled my samplers? Thanks.

Gigabit LAN card in each PC, networked via a bridge (gigabit of course), with FX Teleport or Wormhole (for VST based main hosts) running on each would be one way for apps like Nuendo, Cubase, etc. (Works very well, btw).
Obviously a simple lightpipe audio card in each PC wordclocked to a master system would also work. I don't know what the specific network-only solution would be for PT HD, but since Gigastudio is RTAS capable there may be a network sharing option there as well.

Basicly I have no idea, but was wondering how is the mLAN of Yamaha doing today? It looked promising in this kind of applications a while ago..
