I just picked up a P4 1.7 Ghz PC with fairly good hardware but I have just a Soundblaster PCI 128 as a sound card. I realize in the future that I'll need to purchase something(sound card)more powerful to really do some damage but I just wanted to get things on the road for the time being.
I have launched Nuendo 1.5 and configured the card(as best I know) and ran the ASIO Multimedia Tests which completed fine. I opened a blank project and imported a .wav file to test things out but I can't get sound. I can see output from the channel on the VST mixer but cannot hear a damn thing out of the speakers. I'm pretty sure the config is correct but there's gotta be something that I'm missing...Any ideas?

I ended up solving the problem a couple of hours after I posted to this group and it was in the ASIO Configuration where the problem resided. I went into the "Device Setup" option and configured the software for "Direct X" mode and then checked the "Release ASIO Driver In Background" option and then things started moving from there. Thanks for the reply.

Thats the answer...if your card is not fully setup right on that aspect it wont work..
Try setting up the Direct X setup in the programs menu for Nuendo
