I'm currently in a rock band(4pc, I'm the drummer), which wants to record. I have recorded with othe projects in the past, but this time it looks like I'm gonna be the "engineer" and I'm pretty excited about that. I have a lot of interest in recording and I'm anxious to learn. However, I'm a little short on gear and don't know exactly what to get to maximize my budget. I have a set of Shure drum mics on the way and I'm in the market for a board and device to multitrack on my computer. My question at the moment is. would the equipment in the corresponding links be a practical setup. The board has 1/4 outputs for each channle, so In theory I could eq my drums, for example, and get some simple 1/4male to RCAmale patch cables, and there would be my multitracking. This is just me thinking outloud so to speak. Let me know what you guys think. thanks

I do use an Alto Headphone amps as well as home made gear.
The Mixer will provide the facility to Hardware Monitor and therefore skip any latency issues when tracking.

i'll not get into the whole behrenger thing as you can search the forums for that or someone else will come along and rip them (deservedly so in my opinion)... that being said how about something like the mackiemixers with the firewire interface??? much better quality and the mixer will go straight into your puter....
