I was wondering if the current nForce4 motherboards still have "the problems" which the nf4 boards in the past had? What problems where that anyway?
I don't know how many times i've heard that nf4 won't work for studio use, but I've never heard any reasons for it? Rumors maybe?

things keep getting better with the Nforce 4.
however it does seem board specific.
UADs are know to not work with them.
without a UAD they are fine but do suffer a performance loss compared to the Nforce 3
we have seen uads working but its stil to early to say

It was no rumour, but a bit outdated now. nF4 has always worked but in the beginning it was not nearly as good as nF3. The real reason was quite complicated. PCI performance seemed to suffer from how PCI-E was implemented: low trackcount, high latencies, crackles etc. It turns out that with a dualcore (X2) nF4 is OK.
There was a [[url=http://[/URL]="http://www.recordin…"]thread[/]="http://www.recordin…"]thread[/] some time ago summarizing nF4 here on RO. If you still insist on the lowdown, I suggest you google with terms like nF4 or nForce4, DAW, performance, latency etc.
