OK. .I'm going to school this fall for a degree in professional recording arts. However...i also will want to be able to produce my own choons while I'm not in class. All in the electronic music genre. Im going to be using programs and plan on purchasing, Reason 3.0, Ableton live 4, and Native Instruments Reaktor, and Absynth and an M-Audio OZONE or O2. My main problem is, what should i purchase in terms of pc specs, or is a mac better (my school is ALL mac's) for producing at home? excluding monitors cuz thats kinda obvious. .I was planning on getting a G5 dual 1.8 w/2gig ram and 160gb drive. Or should i go the pc route? currently i have a 3.2ghz p4, 1gig ddr dual channel pc3200 ram, 160gb SATA drive. but I'm using my mobo's onboard sound. Should i upgrade, and what should i get? in terms of soundcard etc. HELP!

However, your current PC would be entirely adequate in most respects.
