I have been asked to record 3 rock bands in a small outdoor setting for the local music school. This is more to capture the student's achievement vs a commercial endeavor.
My current gear comprises of 3 ldc, SM57 and SM58 and a D112, 4 mic preamp's, Digital mixer and 24 track hard disk recorder.
The live board has minimal capacity and cannot be used as a feed at least on a channel-by-channel basis. I might be able to get a FOH mix off the board via sends.
Your suggestions are appreciated

:) I say, use the 2 best closest matched mics you have and do a stereo configuration from the listener point of view, up somewhat high, and back, on stands with wind protection. Sneak a mic in perhaps around drums for tightness, and re-enforce a more direct bass sound, either mic, or by feed from direct out, or insert tap.
Just a suggestion,
