Hi
I'm curently thinking about buyng a used 1642VLZ for recording drums. Until now I've been using a Soundcraft Spirit Studio (24ch), but I need a smaller mixer and I've heard some fairly good things about the 1642...however. The 1642 doesn't have Phase reverse, so I was wondering what tips and tricks there are out there to go around this problem. Obvious situations will be when I'm Micing the snare top and bottom...'
Any help is greatly appreciated..

Yep; for the number of times you'll need it, you're better off D
Yep; for the number of times you'll need it, you're better off DIY; make a shortie XLR to XLR cable, and reverse pins 2 & 3 on ONE of the connectors, and you'll be all set. Even the newer ONYX mixers don't have a phase reverse switch, and for the most part, it's not really a necessity at that level of application.
just make/buy a pin changer that switches hot and cold singles.
