Hi, can someone throw some names out for me, i'm looking for a preamp and a converter for my pc setup, here is my initial problem:

"Hi, I've recently set up my recording system again, but every time I record something on my setup, the sound is so low, I have to duplicate it atleast 6 times to be able to hear it, and it automatically records to the left (pan) originally. Does anyone know what the problem is here? Ive got a condenser mic At2020, into a phantom power, to my computer.

thanks."

MY budget is real low, so I'm gonna be shopping it off ebay, but I'm looking for something no more than a 100 used. I've searched ebay, just dont know which one to buy, first time doing this.

Hey man, it's a really good investment buying a quality ADC, not really something you would want to skimp on. This PreSonus piece is really nice. preamp and converter in one package. It's a little more than you want to pay, but it's got both things you are looking for at good quality. I got mine B-Stock with no visible or audible problems for $50 less than ticket. It's got quality built in preamps, and if you use a mic it is essential to have good preamps/converters to get the most out of your mic.

Is this gonna work with my condenser mic? I notice it doesn't have an XLR in and out on that preamp? or am I not seeing it right?

Did you even read the review like I said? Yes it will work with a condenser because it has built in 48V, I even said that in my review. The XLR ins are on the front, they are combo XLR and line ins, so they look a little strange, but I assure you they work fine. It's an interface so there are no XLR out, it connects to your computer via firewire. Which I am finding out is an amazing way to do just about anything. You don't even need to plug it into the wall for power because your computer supplies the power through the firewire cable. Woo!
