The PreSonus firestudio project!

HI everybody!



I about to invest into my home studio and purchase the PreSonus "Firestudio Project".

I'd really like to know what you guys think of it since it's the first time I'm buying an audio interface.

I'm aiming for a really good sound quality knowing that I'll be using it to record Vocals, Guitar, bass, piano and who knows maybe drums. Is it a good choice for the price? 375€.

Please let me know asap what you reckon of it.



Just one last thing, I wanted to know what is the major component of a home studio? I know that everything is important in the chain, but what amongs all improves the audio quality?

Never used one of those interfaces so I can't comment on that.



For the audio chain, I believe what affects the quality of your recordings the most literally follows the order of the signal path to the DAW (this is my opinion only)...





  1. Individual talent and performance of the artist
  2. Instruments used
  3. Acoustic room treatment/ performance space
  4. Mic selection and placement along with a GOOD microphone preamp
  5. Your A/D converter (interface)
  6. Good Mixing skills (a good ear)
  7. A good mastering engineer

    The best sounding recorded music has all of these things IMHO.
