Hi to all,
I'm glad I can finally give you this video who gave me a bit of challenge.
I recorded a part where I expose a bug when recording multiple takes and I give you a workaround.
I should remind you that I'm not paid for making those videos.
I just like to show what I learn and there is a lot to know with Samplitude !

One of my Youtube viewer pointed the fact that it isn't a bug.. There's an option in the take manager to hide shorter takes or not.
Here's the comment on my youtube channel from
Maximilian Krauß
The missing shorter take is actually a feature, not a bug. The underlying rationale is that all takes are not only assumed to start at the same time as the selected take, but also to take at least as long as the selected take. Therefore, there is a filter option enabled by default that hides takes that are shorter than the currently selected one. In your example, recording and selecting a second take that is longer than the first take makes the filter hide the first one as it doesn't fully meet the filter's criteria (it starts at the same time, but is too short).
I'm very thankful that my channel is becoming community where we can exchange and learn. (small but getting there) ;)

Hey guys, thank you for the video and the comments.
I did send this to our developers to see if we can give any other interesting input regarding this :D
BTW: Keep in mind when you play those takes where you missplay in the first seconds or at the first chords and quickly restart the take. In this case, this comes in very handy :D
kmetal Thanks for your lovely words :)

Am i understanding this correctly, it IS possible to turn this feature on or off?
Yes, it is !! :)
You go in the take manager and click on options and just remove the check sign !! Nearly too simple !
It's sad that I didn't find this before doing my video.
I will probably make a follow up video to show the setting

Nice work Marco! That's the kind of glitch that induces panic and temporary insanity. Overall revolver tracks are a great idea to me, since it allows a logical category for performance takes and edits. Great for instance when you need a clean version of the vocals, without swears.
I wonder if MAGIX is aware of the bug?
