I'm using a RODE K2 and Peluso CEMC 6 to record a guitar in stereo thru my Sebatron into the Firebox and then into the powerbook.
Here's my issue: Not enough input/recording volume. I've got the output on the Sebatron around 6 in hopes to get more volume, but I barely end up with any reading on the garageband meter, so I have to use a boosting effect in garage band or crank up the wav file with something like Audacity. This seems like a rig job, so I was wondering if anyone uses a Sebatron with a Firebox and is able to get some good volume on the front end. The Firebox comes with this little mixer software, and all channels are cranked to "U", but still no luv.
(btw, the reason I'm using garabe band instead of Cubase or something is because I only record like one track, maybe two, so I don't need all the bells and whistles of the nicer software.)

Thanks for your reply.
I'm using the 2 TRS in's on the firebox to avoid another pre in the chain... it's true that I could get more volume if I used the firebox pre with the sebatron, but I'm afraid that would muddy it up for sure... the only pre I want in the mix is the sebatron to hopefully keep it clean.
any other ideas?

maybe someone just needs to tell me that it's pretty standard to have a low signal for recording, and then when it's mastering time you can boost it after-the-fact.... I just don't want to record all my songs and find out there could have been a much better way.
Anyone?
