Hello again,
I've been using a MOTU 828 for the last year, almost exclusively with the analog inputs and without the manual.
I'll be working (for the first time) with a Mackie 24HDR and I'm wondering what I'll need to dump multiple tracks from the Mackie to the 828 using cubase.
I know I could just figure it out in time, but I'd like to be prepared this time.
Take care,
Robby

Just one more little tidbit: Make sure you set the Mackie as the master clock for the 828. Otherwise it'll be click and pop city.
Or see if you can get a master clock like the Lucid or something similar and clock both the Mackie and the 828 from that. That way you'll know you got a real solid timebase.

Well, basically if you plan on doing more than 8 tracks of transfer you will need to sync the computer to the Mackie.
Sending MTC via MIDI to the Mackie and having it slave to the computer will make sure that each pass will start at the same time.
Optical out of the Mackie to the optical input of the 828 will be a good way fo doing this.
