Anyone knows this machine? I might have a chance to buy it cheap and I'm wondering what it's good for. In 1989 it was considered one of the best mastering decks but I don't know much about features and sound quality compared to what's available today.

If it was considered a mastering deck then, it's probably a good deck for 2-track mixdown from either analog multitrack/console or just an analog mix. It's probably got a good sounding analog path in front of the converters.
I don't know specific specs of the deck, but it may not be worth the time and trouble.
