studio monitors

hey guys probably the worst question ever i know the answer but i just wanna know for sure from pressionals, when connecting monitors you use speaker cables right? can you use mic cables cause thats what the guy at a music store gave to my mother idk why but he did?

If they're active (powered) monitors, you'll likely be using balanced or XLR cable.

If the signal is going to an amplifier THEN to the speakers, you'll use speaker cable.

Yes, if you have XLR in, self-powered monitors, then running XLR

Yes, if you have XLR in, self-powered monitors, then running XLR mic cables is fine (as it's not carrying high power, power amp output, anyway)
